Tröegs Troegenator Doublebock
Doppel Bock [Type 26] 8.2% ABV
I had this beer in a place in Newark, DE called Deer Park. It is a down home little place. The University of Delaware students told me that it is a much louder place when school is in session. I drank this beer with a Kobe beef burger, which was quite good. The beer is dark and thick, almost syrupy. Tastes like chocolate at first, but it has a hop aftertaste that is a bit unusual for a doppel bock.

I would give this beer a two in the winter, since a doppel bock is thick enough to sustain life without other food, but since it is June it is a bit too thick for this time of year. However, Trogenator is a good example of the style, perhaps a bit hoppier than normal, but still an excellent beer.
